Overview

The Title Page chapter is used to control the location of the title page in your book. Gedcom Publisher generates the content for the title page automatically from the metadata and other properties in the book.

If you would rather control the exact content of your title page, you should delete the Title Page chapter provided by Gedcom Publisher and use the Content Chapter item to create a custom Title Page.

For information about other chapter types, see the Chapters help page.

Usage Guidelines and Limitations

  1. You may disable or delete the Title Page chapter. A title page is included in most e-books, but a title page is not required. If you delete or disable the Title Page chapter provided by Gedcom Publisher, you should create your own using the Content Chapter item.
  2. You should not add multiple Title Page chapters. Gedcom Publisher will ignore the second and subsequent Title Page chapters.

Content

The Title Page includes the following content. Empty items are skipped.

  1. Book Title
  2. SubTitle
  3. Author
  4. Copyright
  5. Publisher and Publisher Address
  6. Identifier (ISBN or UUID, optional)

Properties

Title

The Title property identifies the chapter in the list of chapters list. The title appears in the Table of Contents.

See the Include in Chapter Count for an explanation of using "{#}" in the title.

Enabled

See Enabled in the Common Properties section of the User Items help page.

Include in Chapter Count

The Include in Chapter Count property indicates whether a chapter is counted when assigning the sequential chapter number that Gedcom Publisher inserts into chapter titles when "{#}" is included in the Title property text.

Include in Chapter Count is usually unchecked for special purpose chapters such as the table of contents or a dedication page.

If you include the text "{#}" in your title, Gedcom Publisher will replace that text with the chapter number.

If Include in Chapter Count is unchecked, you should not use "{#}" in your title. If you do, the number will be the same as the previous numbered chapter.

Using "{#}" in your title makes it easier to maintain sequential chapter numbers by letting Gedcom Publisher count the chapters for you.

Include Identifier

If Include Identifier is checked, the UUID or ISBN is included on the title page. Otherwise, it is omitted. The default is checked.
